Indigenous South
The south valley has a healthy Indigenous cannabis culture, with great options in Penticton, Oliver, and Osoyoos. The south end of the valley is actually the northernmost point in the Sonoran Desert that runs all the way down to Mexico. This region is extremely hot and dry in the summer and mild in the winter. Here you will find a number of family-owned and operated cannabis outlets that operate within the band's sovereign legislation, evaluation, and taxation policies. In Canada, each band was given the freedom to make its own business decisions and do not need Health Canada or Canada Revenue Agency approval or overreach. As a result of this, you will find products "on the rez" that you won't find anywhere else. On the flip side there is no mandated quality assurance testing as you will see in licensed shops.
